Low cost and easy installation--Spring washer

Spring washers are widely used in load-bearing and non load-bearing structures of general mechanical products. They are characterized by low cost and easy installation, and are suitable for parts with frequent assembly and disassembly.

Product introduction

Spring washer is often called spring washer in screw industry. It is made of stainless steel and carbon steel, which is iron. Commonly used spring washers are m3, M4, M5, M6, M8 and m10 M12,M14,M16. These specifications are commonly used. The national standard gb/t 94.1-87 for spring washers specifies standard spring washers with a specification of 2-48mm. Reference standard gb94.4-85 technical conditions for elastic washers spring washers.

Main materials

65Mn spring steel or 70\carbon steel, 3Cr13, stainless steel SUS304 or SUS316 and phosphor bronze are usually used.

Heavy duty spring washers (GB/T7244-1987) spring washers are also known as spring mesons.

Saddle spring washer (GB/T 7245-1987)

Saddle spring washer (GB/T 860-1987)

Corrugated spring washer (GB/T 7246-1987)

Corrugated elastic washer (GB/T 955-1987)

Main purpose

The spring washer is installed under the nut to prevent the nut from loosening.

It is stated in the national standards.

Hexagon slotted nut is specially used with the bolt with hole at the end of the screw to insert the cotter pin from the groove of the nut into the hole of the screw to prevent the nut from loosening automatically. It is mainly used in occasions with vibration load or alternating load.

Methods to prevent automatic loosening of nuts (or bolts) in mechanical design and manufacturing include:

1. add spring washer; (easy to do)

2. use hexagon slotted nut + cotter pin; (increased processing operations on a year-on-year basis)

3. pad the lock washer; (increased processing operations on a year-on-year basis)

4. insert the steel wire into the hexagon head opening of the hexagon bolt. (increased processing operations on a year-on-year basis)

Spring washers are used to prevent looseness. For example, the bolts connecting the motor and the base generally need spring washers, because if the motor vibrates without spring washers, the nuts will loosen. Generally, the fasteners on the equipment with vibration are equipped with spring washers, and the flanges generally do not need to be shimmed! Whether to add spring gasket to the flange is related to the medium flowing through the pipeline. If it is easy to produce pulse, it is better to add spring gasket. There is also high-speed fluid, and the caliber changes frequently Don't generalize On some valves, the gland flange of the stuffing box needs spring gaskets The automatic selection of spring gasket is included.

Main differences

The spring washer can prevent looseness and increase the pre tightening force, but the flat washer does not. It can be used to increase the fastening contact area, prevent the friction between the bolt and the workpiece, and protect the surface of the connector to prevent the surface of the workpiece from being scratched when the bolt and nut are tightened.

However, for some important connections, such as those that mainly rely on compression to generate friction to transmit power, spring pads cannot be used. If they are used to reduce the connection rigidity, it is easy to cause accidents. Spring washers may not be used. When the strength of the connected part is low, the flat pad or flange bolt shall be used to increase the contact area. When there is vibration, pulse and large fluctuation of medium temperature, the spring pad must be used.
