What are the differences between lock nuts and ord

Time:2022/6/16    Browse:7200

1. The anti-vibration performance is different.

Ordinary nut: poor relative to lock nut.

Lock nut: excellent anti-vibration performance. When the thread is tightened, the thread linearity of the thread crest of the bolt tightly enters the 30 wedge-shaped inclined plane of the nut and is clamped, and the normal force exerted on the wedge-shaped inclined plane forms an included angle of 60 with the axis of the bolt, instead of 30. Therefore, the normal force generated when the lock nut is tightened is far greater than that of the common standard nut, and it has great anti-loosening and anti-vibration ability.

2. Wear resistance and shear resistance are different.

Ordinary nuts: poor wear resistance and shear resistance;

Lock nut: strong wear resistance and shear resistance. The 30-degree inclined plane of the thread bottom of the nut can make the locking force of the nut evenly distributed on the threads of all the threads. Because the pressing force on the thread surfaces of all the threads is evenly distributed, the nut can better solve the problems of thread wear and shear deformation.

3. Reuse rate is different.

Ordinary nuts: low reuse rate;

Lock nut: high reuse rate. A large number of applications show that the locking force of the locknut is still not reduced after repeated fastening and disassembly, and it can keep the original locking.

Extended information:

Type of lock nut

The first method is to screw two identical nuts on the same bolt, and attach a tightening torque between the two nuts to make the bolt connection reliable.

The second is a special locknut, which needs to be used together with a lockable gasket. The special locknut is not a hexagonal nut, but a round nut. There are 3, 4, 6 or 8 notches on the circumference of the nut (depending on the size of the nut and the product series of the manufacturer). These notches are not only the focus of the tightening tool, but also the clamping points of the lockwasher bayonet.

The third method is to drill through threaded holes (generally two, 90-degree distribution on the outer circumferential surface) from the outer circumferential surface to the inner circumferential thread surface of the nut, which are used to screw in small-diameter countersunk screws, in order to exert a centripetal force on the threads and prevent the lock nut from loosening.

On the market, the lock nut with good quality is inlaid with a small copper block on the inner circle of the nut, which is consistent with the thread of the lock nut, so as to prevent the radial jacking screw from directly contacting the locked thread and damaging the latter. This kind of lock nut is gradually applied to the shaft end locking occasions of rotating parts, such as the locking of the bearing at the installation end of the ball screw.

The fourth lock nut is composed of two parts, each of which has staggered cams. Because the angle of the internal wedge design slope is larger than the angle of the bolt's nut, this combination is tightly bitten into a whole. When vibration occurs, the convex parts of the lock nut move wrong with each other, resulting in lifting tension, thus achieving a perfect locking effect.

The fifth one is structural anti-loosening. By improving the design of the thread structure, it can obtain its own locking function without the help of other external factors. Therefore, its applicability is wider than the above methods, and its environmental requirements are lower.

There are many kinds of locknuts, such as nylon nuts, and hexagon nuts with flange nuts. In short, this kind of locknut plays a locking role. Screw the nut onto the screw, screw, bolt, etc., so that it will not come loose. They can be actively connected together, making them firm and stable to a high degree.
